You do not feel nervous in social situations, and have a good impression of what others think of you, however you tend to lack energy and have difficult initiating activities. You lead a leisurely and relaxed life. You would prefer to sit back and smell the roses than indulge in high energy activities. You prefer dealing with either people or things rather than ideas. You regard intellectual exercises as a waste of your time. You will help others if they are in need. If people ask for too much of your time you feel that they are imposing on you, however you believe that a certain amount of deception in social relationships is necessary. You are guarded in new relationships and less willing to openly reveal the whole truth about yourself. You find yourself procrastinating and show poor follow-through on tasks. Often you fail to complete tasks - even tasks that you want very much to complete.

(no subject) [Oct. 22nd, 2007|05:26 am]
Man, I just cannot sleep. I've been tossing and turning in a state of half-sleep/half-awake for about 2 hours now. This blows.

Fran Watch 2007 [Oct. 11th, 2007|02:32 am]
Fran is doing okay so far. Her first dip at the Vet seems like it went well. She didn't smell as bad as rotten eggs luckily enough! If you've ever taken a photo class where you actually develop your own photos - that is exactly how she smells. The smell hasn't disappeared totally yet, but I'm sure it will just in time for her next dip on Monday morning!

I have to give her oral liquid medicine twice a day, in the morning and night. It's extremely hard to get her to let me give her the medicine. She's come to understand that when I pick up the big brown towel, it's medicine time. She flops her head around so much I usually can only get about 80% of the liquid in her mouth before she's like "that's it, I'm done!" Slowly but surely...

The Vet wanted me to keep her quarantined if possible, but since my apartment is basically a one room place, it's kind of hard. I put her in the kitchen and closed the doors but I could hear her crying and scratching for hours and I felt horrible so I let her out. I've basically resigned to throwing away all of my bedding and pillows and starting fresh in a few weeks. She looks like shes getting better so I'm happy to see that. I'm sure she'll be back to her normal non-fungal self before I know it; I just hope she doesn't pass it on to me before then!

Poor Fran :( [Oct. 8th, 2007|11:50 am]
I took Fran in to get spayed today. Unfortunately she has a pretty bad case of ringworm, so they had to delay the surgery. She has ringworm (not actually anything worm-like!) in four different parts of her body; a big patch on her head, and some on her paws. Since the case was so bad, they have to dip her once a week for a month, and I have to give her oral medication for a month. The Vet told me that the dip they use contains sulfur so it smells like rotten eggs. :( She has to air dry after the dip too, and she's undergoing that right now.

I need to clean my apartment top to bottom too, so I can get rid of any contaminated hairs she's left. The Vet said I need to clean any place she sleeps, which is basically my entire apartment. I have to be careful too because ringworm can be passed to humans (it's a fungus, basically the same as Athlete's Foot). Poor Fran, I hope this clears up quickly for her. She already had a bad start to her day when she got her temperature taken...

Money is weird. [Sep. 12th, 2007|10:11 pm]
I've never really cared about the money I have. I've always just kind of spent it without thinking about it. Money is just a means to an end for me. I've never been in debt, and I've never had to live paycheck to paycheck. Lately though, I've been noticing that my bank account has been on a steady decline. I've been spending a whole lot more money than I've been "raking in" at work.

I've been trying to make conscious efforts to reign in my spending these past few weeks. It kinda sucks because I didn't splurge on any big item for myself for my birthday like I usually do. I really wanted to, but I guess I'm more worried about the recent spending. I'd been planning on purchasing a new car, the first car I'd ever had to pay for myself. I wanted to reach X amount of dollars before I took the plunge, but lately the X has been getting further and further away.

Gonna continue and try and be frugal for a few more paychecks and get it back up to a number I'm happy with before I look back into the car. I just have to be good about making sure I don't walk into stores and buy laptops or surround sound systems or other high price items I don't really need, I suppose.

Bioshock'd [Sep. 9th, 2007|10:22 pm]
Finally finished Bioshock! I've been out of town for almost two full weeks since I got it, but I finally buckled down and beat it. Loved the game, and I can't recommend it enough to people who love a great story. I forced myself to get past the scares/atmosphere (I'm such a wuss) and loved every minute of it (except screaming like a girl)!

Can't recommend it enough, go buy it!

Penny Arcade Expo! [Aug. 22nd, 2007|10:40 am]
Heading to Seattle tomorrow to attend the Penny Arcade Expo. I think it'll be fun! It's basically like a gaming geek convention for 3 days, so that'll be cool. I wish I knew someone with a PS2 slim that I could take on my trip though, I'd love to be able to catch up on some games in the backlog while out of town. Yes, I know it's lame I'm going somewhere I've never been and I want to sit in my hotel room playing games. Especially considering the convention itself is just a big place to play DS and PSP all weekend (I gotta pick up Jeanne D'arc before I go...)

I'm gonna be doing more traveling the week after I get back. Next stop is the Austin Game Convention which last year ended on my birthday. This year though my birthday is on a Saturday so I'll be back home for it. Not that anything will be going on because I don't really do anything for my birthday anymore.
